Our Aspirations
Our Story
The eight founding members of the Fairness Forum first met in 1997. We are connected by our eagerness to explore adaptive practices that keep us ahead of an ever-changing world. Over time we’ve evolved into a tight-knit group, becoming progressively more frustrated with the rise in unfairness and intolerance both in the UK and around the world. We recognise that if we do not become part of the solution, then we ourselves are part of the problem. Our ambition is to stimulate debate and action through the Fairness Forum and, as catalysts for change, we hope to make unfairness simply unacceptable.
People, planet and prosperity, I’m an international entrepreneur, coach and co-author currently operating at the intersection of technology and human consciousness. Privileged to have served some of the UK’s highest profile companies and individuals, my contribution to the conversation within the UK IT industry included appearing on the BBC, national magazines, Financial Times plus conference speaker on computing careers. A decade in natural commodities allowed me to travel the world to the most curious of places ultimately ending up working as a strategic consultant to a multi-billion-dollar, Chinese-backed iron ore mine in West Africa, alerting me to global imbalance and unfairness.

An earlier corporate career spanning aviation, road transport, food services and finance prepared me for over 30 years as a consultant, facilitator and executive coach. I am accredited as a ‘Master Trainer and Coach Trainer’ by the International NLP Trainers’ Association and founded the Vievolve Consultancy with Fairness Forum colleague Lynne, in late 1999. Together we delivered the highest quality business NLP programmes to senior personnel in Government, Corporate, NGO and Charitable organisations, internationally, for over 20 years. With that expertise I specialise in facilitating first-class results in sensitive negotiation, conflict resolution and complex problem-solving interventions on four continents.

I’ve had a kaleidoscope career, covering advertising, the private medical sector, training, education, public sector, all rooted in business management. The latest chapter was in the House of Commons where I became the first female Serjeant at Arms in 600 years. My passions are to support children, women and small businesses to grow, develop and thrive, and particularly to identify and challenge unfairness. I am one of the founders of the Fairness Forum with a group of long-established like-minded friends who share the ambition to make the world a better place for our children and grandchildren. I bring to the group my abilities to build rapport, maintain focus, be resilient and work at macro and micro levels. Plus my sense of humour!

I'm an engineer by profession, and my curiosity about how things work and how to make them work better led me to a fascination for people, teams, organisations, and society. In my career I've led complex projects and businesses in an international setting. In my 40s I decided to work full-time addressing the climate crisis, with my particular skill-set suiting the wind industry. I now work as a consultant and non-executive director, supporting the leadership teams of SMEs in the energy transition. I'm a dad to two young adults, and I'm active in my local community - not least as chair of a community running club. Fairness is at the heart of my value system. I believe that freedom without fairness leads only to disharmony - and humans are happiest when we experience togetherness.

I am a coach, trainer, author of two books and founder of The Training Box, where we enable our clients to unlock their communication potential and be the best communicators they can be. My perspective is international, having lived in five countries and worked in more than twenty. I am passionate about the role good communication has to play in identifying win-win solutions in the workplace. Totally aligned with the goals of the Fairness Forum, I firmly believe that our society needs a different kind of communication and collaboration to create a fairer and more sustainable world now and for future generations.

I have had a changeable career. My first job was as a lab technician, however my real area of interest is the arts and I gave up the lab for art school, graduating from Bristol Polytechnic in 1981 with a BA Hons degree in sculpture. I then shifted into broadcast television, becoming a freelance editor working on factual entertainment shows, documentaries and feature films. Through out my time in TV I have developed my skills as a screen writer. In 2016, I became a published poet. These career stages showed me that my purpose is to tell stories – a purpose that I will use for the furtherance of the goals of the Fairness Forum.

My career is extensive and varied - from early days as a PA through to working internationally in Marketing Analysis, Learning and Development, Executive Coaching and over 20 years as MD of Vievolve Consulting (founded with Fairness Forum colleague Ian). Together with occasional joint projects with Ian, I now work as a Funeral Celebrant, meeting with bereaved families to write and deliver personalised and meaningful funeral services. My insight, sensitivity and understanding enables me to build rapport and relate to people of all cultures, seniority and social backgrounds, leading to the creation of outcomes which would otherwise be unachievable.
Lynne Kerry
My background is in the travel industry and I have travelled extensively to many culturally diverse countries. For the last 30 years I have specialised in management training, helping people fulfill their potential. I am also chairman of my local Chamber of Commerce. I am a great believer in learning from other people’s experiences and seeking to replicate the strategies of successful people. One of my core beliefs is that there is a solution to every problem – the challenge being to find or create that solution. Through the Fairness Forum I hope that we can make the world a better and fairer place for everyone.
